The Pikey trek is a new exciting trekking destinations considered as the tallest hills that are present in the lowland of glorified Everest region in Solu. The trek offers a spectacular panoramic view of the Mighty Himalayas like Mt. Everest, Mt. Manaslu, Mt Kanchenjunga, Mt. Gaurishanker and many more. Pikey is said to be a Sherpa clan deity and is worshipped by locals during the month of July as Pikey Hlapchen Karbu. Ethnic communitis like Tamang, Magars, Chhetri, Brahmin and Sherpa insights you the lifestyle, cultures & tradition during trek. The sunrise and sunset, ancient Buddhist stupas and monasteries, temples, beautiful flora and fauna and stuning landscapes are major highlights of the trek.
Day 1: Arrival. Transfer to the hotel. Evening, welcome dinner.
Welcome to Nepal. At your arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, Himalayan Namobuddha Travel and Treks’ representative will be there to welcome you and transfer to the hotel. In the evening, you will be taken for a welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepali restaurant. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 2: Trek Briefing. Free Day in Kathmandu.
Today, we will have detailed trek briefing in presence of your trek guide. After that, you will have free time to explore the city on your own. Here are some best options to consider:
Explore around Thamel – a colorful tourist hub of Nepal. You will spot numbers of hotels, money exchange, hotels, shops to buy all kinds of souvenirs, trekking gears, etc and many restaurants to chose from offering both Western and local Nepali cuisines.
Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, which is a great place to start your exploration, where you will walk(about 10-15 min) through narrow alleyways teeming with small shops, temples, and local restaurants.
If you want to stretch your legs, Swoyambhunath, the white stupa rising above the valley, is the perfect spot to catch the sunset over the valley. You can also take a cab which is approximately about 15 minutes drive from Thamel if you are too tired to walk.
Visit the Garden of dreams, which is a classical historical garden located at Thamel(about 5-10 min walk) with an exquisite ensemble of pavilions, fountains, decorative garden furniture, and beautiful flowers and trees.
Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhap (about 8 hrs)
Early morning after breakfast we will drive towards Dhap which is north-east of Kathmandu. We will be travelling on jagged mountain roads. On the way we enjoy the views of Koshi River and eastern Himalayas including Everest, Dudhkunda, Numbur, Thamserku etc .Overnight at Dhap.
Day 4: Trek from Dhap to Bhulbule (6-7 hrs)
After the breakfast, we start our trekking heading towards Bhulbule which passes through the forest and cross many traditional Mani walls, Stupas. We can visit to famous Tolu Gumba. Overnight at Bhulbule.
Day 5: Trek from Bhulbule to Pikey (4-5 hrs)
Today the trail passes through beautiful forest crossing a small rivers and streams, discovering many traditional villages. The beautiful view of open landscapes, Rhododendron, Mani walls, Stupas adds more excitement in our walk. Overnight at Pikey.
Day 6: Trek from Pikey to Junbensi (5-6 hrs)
Early morning we hike to Pikey peak, the views from the top are breathtaking and you can see Himalaya floras and faunas, centuries old monasteries, Buddhist stupas and mani stones.
After hike back and breakfast, our head towards Junbesi which descend down and cross an old suspension bridge and then ascend up a hill. If we are lucky then we can see the traditional Shamanism (traditional performance by Dhami Jhakri) by local community. Overnight at Junbensi.
Day 7: Trek from Jun Bensi to Salleri (4-5 hrs). Drive back to Kathmandu (7-8 hrs)
After breakfast our trail heads toward salleri, a municipality of Solukhumbu district. Following ascends & decends we reach Salleri. We will have a private vehicle ready in Salleri which drive us back to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu you can have a relax at hotel. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 8: Free day in Kathmandu
This day you will have free day on your own. In the evening, Himalayan Namobuddha Travel and Trek will take you for a farewell lunch or dinner in one of the finest restaurant in Kathmandu. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 09: Transfer to the airport. Departure
Departure from Kathmandu
Today is your departure day. Himalayan Namobuddha’s representative will drop you to Airport 3 hours before scheduled flight. It’s time to bid Nepal farewell visit and appreciate your visit to our country Nepal. Hopefully we shall meet again.
