Discover Kathmandu valley, from its famous UNESCO world heritage sites, local market, temples, to local cooking experience and even dress like a local Nepali. This trip is designed to give you authentic experience to the traveler and offers rich cultural experience, combining ancient traditions and culture with the vibrant everyday life of a bustling Kathmandu valley.

Day 1: Arrival. Transfer to the hotel. Evening Welcome Dinner
Welcome to Nepal. At your arrival in Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, Himalayan Namobuddha Travel and Treks’ representative will be there to welcome you. The representative will help you to check in your hotel rooms. In the evening, you will be taken for welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepali restaurant. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Trip Briefing. Guided Hinduism and Buddhism Tour
Detailed trip briefing at your hotel about your overall activities in Nepal. You can ask any questions you might have. Today, you will enjoy a guided Kathmandu tour of popular UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Nepal: Boudhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple. Today, you will get to know many interesting facts and stories about Hindu and Buddhist culture, history and the people of Nepal from your local tour guide. You can take your own time as you like at each temple to explore around and asking the questions to your tour guide (this is a private tour just for you) for spending your time in Kathmandu.

Boudhanath Stupa is one of the most popular UNESCO world heritage sites located about 11 km from the center and northeastern outskirts of Kathmandu. The stupa is massive mandala and it is one of the largest unique structure’s stupas in the world with a long history. It is the center of Tibetan culture in Kathmandu and rich in Buddhist symbolism.

Pashupatinath Temple is a famous and sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located on the banks of the Bagmati River, approximately 5 km north-east of Kathmandu dedicated to Shiva. You will see many Sadhu monks and the cremations taking place across the holy river of this temple.

Day 3: Kathmandu Market Walk. Local Cooking Experience
After breakfast at hotel, you will be picked up by our local tour guide and then take you for Kathmandu Market walk (2-3 hrs). You will walk through hidden alleys of Kathmandu and get to explore many interesting places, local market and lifestyle. You will also get to know many hidden and untold stories related to Kathmandu and its people from your local guide.

After walking tour, you will join our local cooking class full of fun and flavor. This local cooking class starts with the shopping of ingredients before the actual cooking class starts. You can choose to make MOMOS (local dumplings) OR Nepali Dalbhat. Please let us know your choice.

You will get to understand the cultural significance of Nepali dishes and their traditional way of cooking techniques during the cooking class. At the end enjoy the delicious meal prepared by you.

Day 4: Guided Bungamati and khokana village tour. Transfer to Patan
Today you will visit Bungamati and Khokana that offers a glimpse into traditional Newari culture and rural life in the Kathmandu valley. You will get to explore many significant pilgrimage sites, fascinating Newari architecture, traditional Newari houses , courtyards, local crafts and sculpture. You will also visit traditional mustard oil production house in Khokana village.

After tour, you will be transferred to Patan- the city of fine arts and crafts. Today you will be staying in beautiful heritage accommodation in Patan.

Patan is the best place in the Kathmandu Valley to enjoy the walk and observe artisans at work. The town is full of traditional Newari craftspeople, so you can find craftsmen doing Buddhist thangka paintings, metal statues making, all kinds of jewelry, and brass and copper crafts.

Day 5: Dress like a local. Guided Patan Tour
Dress like a local can be one of the best way for any traveler to have deeper insights and understanding about various local aspects of Nepal. Make yourself look like a typical Nepalese in a beautiful set of traditional attire and jewelry. You will be amazed to see yourself look so different and beautiful in the cultural dress of Nepal that you can experience only in Nepal.

After that, you will have guided tour to beautiful Patan city. Some of the best places to visit around Patan are Patan Durbar Square, Patan Museum , Golden Temple, Kumari -the living goddess of Patan, Mahaboudha temple, which are all walking distance from your hotel .

Day 6: Departure
Today is your departure day. Himalayan Namobuddha’s representative will drop you to Airport 3 hours before scheduled flight. It’s time to bid Nepal farewell visit and appreciate your visit to our country Nepal. Hopefully we shall meet again.
