Ghorepani Poonhill is located at the North part of Nepal and west of Pokhara city in Annapurna region popularly knowing as Annapurna Balcony trekking. The Ghorepani Poonhill trek is the shortest and easiest trek offering a wonderful opportunity to view Annapurna Region. The Ghorepani hills are densely forested with rhododendrons and oak forest full of birds. Gurung village of Ghandruk is on the lap of Annapurna expressing Nepalese Gurung traditions and culture. On the excursion an amazing and incredible panoramic view of Mt. Fishtail, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri can be observed.

Highlights of Trip
Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu
Welcome to Nepal. At your arrival in Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, Himalayan Namobuddha Travel and Treks’ representative will be there to welcome you. The representative will help you to check in your hotel rooms. In the hotel, you will be briefed about your activities during the trip. In the evening you will be welcomed with a dinner in one of the typical Nepali restaurant with cultural programs. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu & Patan
After breakfast in the hotel, we do sightseeing around Kathmandu City. We start our day trip from Thamel; this is the famous tourist street of Kathmandu city. You can shop your needy equipments, then to the famous historical place Kathmandu Durbar Square along with tour of local market and local lifestyle of Nepal. And then we will be visiting Patan Durbar Square and living goddess of Nepal – KUMARI of Patan. Overnight in the hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (about 7 hrs)
After breakfast in the hotel, we will drive to Pokhara. The first day of our journey begins through drive up to Pokhara, a beautiful lake city. Enjoying the beautiful scenario of greenery hills and villages we’ll reach to Pokhara. Reaching there you have free time on your own. Overnight at Lakeside, Pokhara.
Day 04: Drive to Nayapul (1 hr) and Trek to Tirkhedhunga (4-5 hrs)
Our Ghorepani Poonhill trek begins from beautiful lake city of Pokhara. A short drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (1 hr). Then, our trek starts from Nayapul to Tirkhedhunga (1560 m) walk along the Modi River where there is an Annapurna Conservation Area check post., enjoying the outstanding view of Annapurna Range. Overnight at Tirkhedhunga.
Day 05: Trek from Tirkhedhunga to Ghorepani (3-4 hrs)
This day the trail leads steep uphill for about 2 hours with the amazing landscape and the Himalayan scenery, pleasant view of rhododendron and magnificent oak forests and all the way to Ghorepani, a pleasant village on ridge top with excellent views of several peaks such as Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167 m) Mt. Annapurna I (8091 m) Mt. Nilgiri (7040 m), Fish Tail, Lamjung Himal and many other short and high mountains. Ghorepani means “horse water” in Nepali. We can also find watering spot for the teams of horse, mules and ponies that carry loads between Pokhara and Jomsom. Overnight at Ghorepani.
Day 06: Hike from Ghorepani to Poonhill (1 hr) trek to Tadapani (5-6 hrs)
We raise early morning for excursion to Poonhill , Poonhill is popular for breathtaking view of unobstructed sunrise over the high Himalayas and the wide range of panoramic scenery from the far western Himalaya of Dolpo, Mt Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Fish Tail and so on. After spending about 1 hour at hillside, we come descend back to Ghorepani, have a hot breakfast and start walking to Tadapani. Overnight at Tadapani.
Day 07: Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk (4-5 hrs)
Enjoying the wonderful occasional views of Mt. Annapurna and Machhapuchhre our gradual path leads towards Bhasi Kharka. Then after couple of hours, we reach to Ghandruk, a Gurung Village through forest and small streams which is also popular to be known as Gateway to Annapurna Sanctuary. The rest day, we’ll explore the village and Gurung culture & local lifestyle at Ghandruk. Overnight at Ghandruk.
Day 08: Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul (about 3 hrs) and Drive to Pokhara (1 hr)
Early in the morning we’ll descend way to Birethanti through the scenic route with views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail and Gangapurna Mountains. We will cross the forest of blooming rhododendron and reach Birethanti from where we will take the downhill walk and follow Modi Khola till we reach Nayapul from where we will drive back to Pokhara by our private car which will be stand by for us at Nayapul. Overnight at Pokhara.
Day 09: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu (about 7 hrs)
We will drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu (approximately seven hours with breaks). Or it takes 25 min if you prefer by air. On arrival at Kathmandu, we will transfer you to the hotel. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 10: Free day in Kathmandu
This day you will have free day on your own. Also, Himalayan Namobuddha Travel and Trek will take you for a farewell lunch or dinner in one of the finest restaurant in Kathmandu. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 11: Departure from Kathmandu
Today is your departure day. Himalayan Namobuddha’s representative will drop you to Airport 3 hours before scheduled flight. It’s time to bid Nepal farewell visit and appreciate your visit to our country Nepal. Hopefully we shall meet again.
