Everest 3 passes trek

Everest trekking is one of the most extraordinary adventures in the World- the trek path to the lap of Mount Everest located at the eastern half on Nepal.  The another highlight of this region is Sherpa settlement  that has made Everest Region the most vibrant and colorful.

Khumbu region ranges from 3000m elevation to 8848m at top of Mt Everest. Everest 3 passes is one of the most authentic adventure treks in Everest facilitating the crossing of 3 different high passes which are not counted on the standard Everest trail, Renjo La (5,388m), Cho La (5,380m) and Kongma La (5,535m).

Day 1: Arrival. Transfer to the hotel. Evening, welcome dinner.

Welcome to Nepal. At your arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, Himalayan Namobuddha Travel and Treks’ representative will be there to welcome you and transfer to the hotel. In the evening, you will be taken for a welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepali restaurant. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 2: Trek Briefing. Free Day in Kathmandu.

Today, we will have detailed trek briefing in presence of your trek guide. After that, you will have free time to explore the city on your own. Here are some best options to consider:

Explore around Thamel – a colorful tourist hub of Nepal. You will spot numbers of hotels, money exchange, hotels, shops to buy all kinds of souvenirs, trekking gears, etc and many restaurants to chose from offering both Western and local Nepali cuisines.
Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, which is a great place to start your exploration, where you will walk(about 10-15 min) through narrow alleyways teeming with small shops, temples, and local restaurants.
If you want to stretch your legs, Swoyambhunath, the white stupa rising above the valley, is the perfect spot to catch the sunset over the valley. You can also take a cab which is approximately about 15 minutes drive from Thamel if you are too tired to walk.
Visit the Garden of dreams, which is a classical historical garden located at Thamel(about 5-10 min walk) with an exquisite ensemble of pavilions, fountains, decorative garden furniture, and beautiful flowers and trees.

Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (30 min) and trek to Phakding (3-4 hrs)

 Early morning, we drive to airport as per flight departure time to take our flight to Lukla(2800m). After all formalities and preparation, we start walking the stone paved trial towards Bhaisekharka until we reach Phakding. To assist acclimatization we would have a short hike. Overnight in Phakding.

 

 

Day 4: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440 m/ 5-6 hrs)

This day the trial leads towards the suspension bridge and easy uphill to the Monjo from where Sagarmatha National Park begins after leaving Phakding. After small formalities at National Park, Our trail leads uphill Namche Bazaar crossing another suspension bridge. It takes about 1.5 hrs walking to reach Namche Bazaar, a Gateway to Mt. Everest. Overnight in Namche.

 

 

Day 5: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar

All over the day we will explore the Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Everest and a busy bustling market. From Thame / Khunde we can enjoy views of Mt. Everest and other Peaks with Sherpa Culture. We will hike to Khumjung village and come back to Namche Bazaar. Overnight at Namche.

Day 6: Trek from Namche to Thame (3800 m / 3-4 hrs)

After breakfast at Namche, the trail leads to the old village called Thamo which is easy walk through the valley. Thamo is a small Sherpa village. After exploring the village, the trail leads continue with exploration of Sherpa village and its culture to Thame . There is small Hydro power where you can visit. Stay overnight at the Thame.

 

 

Day 7: Trek from Thame to Lumde (4137 m / 4-5 hrs)

After breakfast, an easy walk to Marlung through the Bhote Koshi river where you can have short break. Then the trail leads uphill to Lumde through the dry valley. It is an interesting walking with enjoying the views of the snow peaked mountains and the valley. Today you won’t see Sherpa village because Thame is the last village of the valley. Once you get in to the village, hike a bit higher than the place where lodge is located to get acclimatize. Overnight at Lumde.

 

Day 8: Trek to Gokya via Renjo la Pass (5345 m / 7-8 hrs)

After breakfast the trail leads uphill for an hour and half and then easy walk for a while. At the end, there is hard climb to get to the top of the Renjo La from where you will have an awesome view of Mt. Everest with Mt.Nuptse with surrounding peaks. You will also see Gokyo lake which breathtaking views. From the top of the Renjo La the trail drops down to the Third Lake (Gokya lake) and get in to the lodge. After time to get rest at the lodge at Gokyo, short climb to the ridge from where you will explore the Glacier which is amazing looking with its small glacier lakes. Overnight at Gokyo. 

 

Day 9: Trek from Gokyo to Thaknak (4690 m / 3-4 hrs)

Today we start early because you will have to walk through the Glacier which is the longest glacier of Nepal called Ngozumpa glacier. By the time of crossing this glacier you will hear many sounds of the rock falling in to the small glacier lake. There are many rocks on the way which has ice underneath. During the sunny day ice melts pretty fast so we should cross this glacier before the sun gets strong. Once you get in to the Thaknak, better to climb up to the small hill for acclimatize. Overnight at the Thanknak.

 

Day 10: Trek from Thanknak to Zungla via Chola pass (5420 m / 6-7 hrs)

After the breakfast the trail leads steep climbing for a while and the trail drops down to the bottom of the Chola. After that the trail leads you through the rock toward the top which is steep climbing. There are some Buddhist  prayer flags on the top of the pass which has great views of the mountains. There is icy part for a while and again the trail drops down through the huge rock and an easy walk at the end to get to the Zungla. Stay overnight at the lodge.

 

Day 11: Trek from Zungla to Gorakshep (5170 m/ 5-6 hrs)

Today the trail goes an easy downhill for a while and few up and down to the Lobuche. Then the trail leads toward Gorekshep through the rocky trail. On the way you will have great views of the Mt. Everest,Mt. Nuptse,Mt. Pumori and more. You will be able to see Khumbu Glacier on the way. After few up downs, you will reach at Gorekshep which is located at the bottom of Kalapatthar. Overnight at the Gorekshep.

 

Day 12: Hike up to the Base Camp (5365 m/ 6-7 hrs)

This is a day which will fulfil our dreams to visit the base camp of the highest peak in the earth. It is 3 hour walk through the ridge of the Khumbu glacier. You will enjoy the surrounding views of the glacier and mountains. There are Buddhist prayer flags which are the symbol of the Base Camp. During the climbing season there will be many tends with colourful looking around. After exploring around, trek down to the lodge and remaining of the day chill out at the lodge. Stay overnight.

 

Day 13: Hike up to Kalapatthar and trek to Lobuche (4928 m/ 6-7 hrs)

Today in the morning we will start hiking without breakfast which is 2 hour up to the Kalapatthar, the greatest view point of the Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Pumori , Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Thamerserku, Mera Peak and many more. After taking many photographs, trek down to the lodge at Gorekshep for breakfast and continue our walk down to Lobuche. Overnight at the Lobuche.

 

Day 14: Trek from Lobuche to Chukung via Kongma la pass (5545m / 6-7 hrs)

After breakfast at the lodge, our day will start walking through Khumbu glacier towards east. After crossing the glacier and river the trail leads up to the pass which is the highest pass of this trip. There will be no tea shop and water resource so that you will have to carry few bottles of water to drink. After hard climb to the top, the trail drops steep down to the Chukung valley where our day ends. Overnight at the Chukung.

 

Day 15: Trek from Chukung to Tengboche (3860 m/ 5-6 hrs)

Today  the trail continues leads down to the Dingboche then after the walking valley gets change through few Sherpa villages. After Pangboche village the trail drops down to the river and cross the bridge. After that the trail leads up to the Tengboche where the oldest Monastery situated on the top of the hill. Evening visit Monastery, see the Buddhist chanting ceremony. Overnight at the Tengboche.

 

Day 16: Trek from Chukung  to Namche (3440m / 4-5 hrs)

Today our day starts walking steep downhill through the Rhododendron forest. Once you get at the bottom of the hill, cross the bridge and steep climbing through the pine and Juniper forest to the Khumjung. After explore the village at Khumjung,Lunch and continue walk to the Namche Bazzar. Overnight at Namche.

 

Day 17: Trek from Namche to Lukla (6-7 hrs) 

This day the trial drops steep down, as we walk continually we will reach the fast flowing Dudh Koshi River and crosses the suspension bridge. We walk the same routes but we will have different ultimate feeling in easy and natural walks. Overnight at Lukla.

 

 

Day 18: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu (30 min)

This day after breakfast we will take a flight from Lukla airport to Kathmandu. As we reach Kathmandu and finish all our airport formalities, you will be transfer in the hotel. At free time you can relax or walk around to buy some gifts for our friends or loved one from Nepal. Overnight at Kathmandu.

 

 

Day 19: Free day in Kathmandu

This day you will have free day on our own. You can go for shopping for your family/ friends or go for optional tours or just relax . Overnight at Kathmandu.

 

 

Day 20: Transfer to the airport. Departure

Today is our departure day. Himalayan Namobuddha’s representative will drop you to Airport 3 hours before scheduled flight. It’s time to bid Nepal farewell visit and appreciate your visit to our country Nepal. Hopefully we shall meet again.
