 Everest Base Camp & Gokyo Trek

            Everest Base Camp (EBC) & Gokyo trekking is one of the most extraordinary adventures in the World- the trek path to the lap of Mount Everest (5545m) located at the eastern half on Nepal. The EBC is the land of the Himalaya offers extremely fantastic views of different mountains, Buddhist Monasteries, varieties of flora and fauna, a closer look to the Sherpa culture and beautiful sight seeing which would obviously make the trek more enjoyable.

 During this trek, you will enjoy Gokyo Lakes and Gokyo Ri which is one of the most amazing viewpoints for great views of Everest and other Himalayas. Day 1: Arrival. Transfer to the hotel. Evening, welcome dinner.

Welcome to Nepal! Upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and transfer to your hotel at Thamel, Kathmandu by private car. In the evening, you will be taken for welcome dinner in one of the authentic Nepali restaurant.

Day 2: Trek Briefing. Visit Pashupatinath and Boudhanath Stupa.

Detailed trek briefing at your hotel in presence of your trek guide. You can ask any questions you might have. Today, you will enjoy a guided Kathmandu tour of popular UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Nepal: Boudhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple. Today, you will get to know many interesting facts and stories about Hindu and Buddhist culture, history and the people of Nepal from your local tour guide. You can take your own time as you like at each temple to explore around and asking the questions to your tour guide (this is a private tour just for you) for spending your time in Kathmandu.

Boudhanath Stupa is one of the most popular UNESCO world heritage sites located about 11 km from the center and northeastern outskirts of Kathmandu. The stupa is massive mandala and it is one of the largest unique structure’s stupas in the world with a long history. It is the center of Tibetan culture in Kathmandu and rich in Buddhist symbolism.
Pashupatinath Temple is a famous and sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located on the banks of the Bagmati River, approximately 5 km north-east of Kathmandu dedicated to Shiva. You will see many Sadhu monks and the cremations taking place across the holy river of this temple.

Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla  (30 min) . Trek to Phakding (2835 m / 3-4 hrs)

Early morning, we drive to airport as per flight departure time to take our flight to Lukla(2800m). After all airport formalities and preparation, we start walking the stone paved trial towards Phakding village, a small village in Khumbu region. Overnight in Phakding.

 

Day 4: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440 m / 3-4 hrs) 

This day the trial leads towards the suspension bridge and easy uphill to the Monjo from where Sagarmatha National Park begins after leaving Phakding. After formalities at check point, our trail leads uphill Namche Bazaar crossing another suspension bridge which takes about 1.5 hrs walking to reach Namche Bazaar, a Gateway to Mt. Everest. Overnight in Namche.

 

Day 5: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar

All over the day we will explore the Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Everest and a busy bustling market. From Thame / Khunde we can enjoy views of Mt. Everest and other Peaks with Sherpa Culture. We will hike to Khumjung village and come back to Namche Bazaar.  Overnight at Namche.

 

Day 6: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3860m / 5-6 hrs)

This day, we start our trail which will lead gradually up and down up to Tengboche enjoying the views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku. Tengboche has the biggest and famous Buddhist Monasteries all over the Khumbu region. Overnight at Tengboche.

 

Day 7: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4410m / 5-6 hrs)

This day, we will have a great view of Pangboche village on the way our trail to Periche. The walk is fairly moderate when we enter at Imja Village. We will pass through River Lobuche and begins steepest climb to Dingboche. Overnight at Dingboche.

 

Day 8: Acclimatization day 

All over the day we will explore the Dingboche village. For acclimatization we can hike to hermitage from where an incredible view of the glacier and the deserted, rocky valley can be seen. Overnight at Dingboche.

 

Day 9: Trek from Dingboche to Dugla (4620m / about 3 hrs)

This day, the trial leads the bottom of the hill, after crossing a small bridge we reach Duglha where we will enjoy a great view of Mt Pumori (7138m) and other peaks. Overnight at Dugla.

 

Day 10: Trek from Dugla to Lobuche (4910m/ 3-4 hrs)

After 2-4 hrs treks beyond Duglha we climb up towards Khumbu Glacier, on the find we see an array of stones with prayer flags used as memory of past Sherpa’s and reach Lobuche. Overnight at Lobuche.

 

Day 11: Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep (5140m) (2 hrs) then hike to Everest Base Camp (5364m) (3 hrs) and back to Gorakshep (4-5 hrs) 

This day the trail continues gaining the high altitudes up to Gorakshep and after reaching there we transfer in the lodges then we will hike through rocky and glacial trail up to Everest Base Camp. When the wonderful Everest Base Camp will be reached we will enjoy the close view of Mt. Nuptse, Mt Khumbuste and Mt. Pumori. After enjoying adequate in Everest Base Camp we’ll return back same way to Gorakshep. Overnight at Gorakshep.

 

Day 12: Early morning hike to Kalapatthar (5550m), back to Gorakshep & trek to Lobuche (4910m / 7-8 hrs) 

This day we wake up early in the morning to climb up to Kalapatthar (5545m, 4hrs) where we can see astonishing sunrise view.  We will have a stunning panoramic view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Pumori and Mt. Ama Dablam. Then we will hike back to Gorakshep for breakfast and then descend down to Lobuche. Overnight at Lobuche.

Day 13: Trek from Lobuche to Dzongla (4830m / 5-6 hrs) 

The trails passes from mostly flat and some nice easy trekking. Eventually the trail dropped down to cross a frozen, rocky stream and the two trails merged. Enjoying the views of the snow peaked mountains and the valley we reach to the village. Overnight at Dzongla.

 

Day 14: Chola La pass (5420m) and trek to Gokyo (4790m / 7-8 hrs)

Today there is hard climb than before to reach the top of the Chola La from where you will have an awesome view of Mt. Everest with Mt.Nuptse with surrounding peaks. You will also see a breathtaking Gokyo lake and following the trail it drop down to the Third Lake (Gokya Lake) and reach our lodge. Overnight at Gokyo.
 

Day 15: Hike Gokyo Ri (5360m) and back & trek to Dole (4200m / 7-8 hrs)

Early morning we start out trail which walk through the Glacier which is the longest glacier of Nepal called Ngozumpa glacier. On the way we could see many ice rocks so while walking we pass carefully. After visiting Gokyo Ri we hike back and follow the trail to Dole. Overnight at Dole.

 

Day 16: Trek from Dole to Namche Bazaar (4-5 hrs / 3440 m)

This day the trail drops with a beautiful view of rhododendron flowers and juniper trees as the trail continues to descend we reach Dudhkoshi River then after with an easy walk we will reach the Namche Bazaar. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.

 

Day 17: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2840 m / 6-7 hrs)

This day the trial drops steep down, as we walk continually we will reach the fast flowing Dudh Koshi River and crosses the suspension bridge. We walk the same routes but we will have different ultimate feeling in easy and natural walks. Overnight at Lukla.

 

Day 18: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu(30 min). Transfer to hotel

This day after breakfast we will take a flight from Lukla airport to Kathmandu. As we reach Kathmandu and finish all our airport formalities, you will be transfer in the hotel. Upon arrival at hotel, you can relax  after wonderful trek. Overnight at Kathmandu.

 

Day 19: Free day in Kathmandu

This day you will have free day on your own. Here are some best options to consider:

Explore around Thamel – a colorful tourist hub of Nepal. You will spot numbers of hotels, money exchange, hotels, shops to buy all kinds of souvenirs, trekking gears, etc and many restaurants to chose from offering both Western and local Nepali cuisines.
Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, which is a great place to start your exploration, where you will walk(about 10-15 min) through narrow alleyways teeming with small shops, temples, and local restaurants. 
If you want to stretch your legs, Swoyambhunath, the white stupa rising above the valley, is the perfect spot to catch the sunset over the valley. You can also take a cab which is approximately about 15 minutes drive from Thamel if you are too tired to walk. 
Visit the Garden of dreams, which is a classical historical garden located at Thamel(about 5-10 min walk) with an exquisite ensemble of pavilions, fountains, decorative garden furniture, and beautiful flowers and trees. 

Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 20: Transfer to the airport. Departure

Today is your departure day. Himalayan Namobuddha’s representative will drop you to Airport 3 hours before scheduled flight. It’s time to bid Nepal farewell visit and appreciate your visit to our country Nepal. Hopefully we shall meet again.
