Day 1: Arrival. Transfer to the hotel. Evening, welcome dinner.

Welcome to Nepal. At your arrival in Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, Himalayan Namobuddha Travel and Treks’ representative will be there to welcome you. The representative will help you to check in your hotel rooms. In the evening, you will be taken for welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepali restaurant. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: TrIp Briefeing. Visit Swoyambhunath, Kopan Monastery and Boudhanath Stupa.

Detailed trip briefing at your hotel in presence of your trek guide. You can ask any questions you might have. Today, you will enjoy a guided Kathmandu tour of important Buddhist Sites of Nepal: Swoyabhunath temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Kopan Monastery. Today, you will get to know many interesting facts and stories about Buddhist culture and practices / teachings from your local tour guide. You can take your own time as you like at each place to explore around and asking the questions to your tour guide (this is a private tour just for you) for spending your time in Kathmandu.

Swoyambhunath stupa is also known as monkey temple among the travelers. This is one of the important ancient religious temple that is significant to both Hindu and Buddhist followers in Nepal . This temple is situated at a top hill from where you can have panoramic view of entire Kathmandu valley.

Boudhanath Stupa is one of the most popular UNESCO world heritage sites located about 11 km from the center and northeastern outskirts of Kathmandu. The stupa is massive mandala and it is one of the largest unique structure’s stupas in the world with a long history. It is the center of Tibetan culture in Kathmandu and rich in Buddhist symbolism.

Kopan monastery is a beautiful Tibetan Buddhist Monastery located near Boudhanath. This monastery is specially known for its meditation and retreat practices. This monastery is home to hundreds of nuns and monks who take part in day to day spiritual and Buddhist rituals.

Day 3: Visit Namobuddha Monastery

Namobuddha monastery is one of the sacred Tibetan monastery located about 40 km southeast of Kathmandu i.e. about 2 hours drive from Kathmandu.It is also known as Thrangu Tashi Yangtse monastery among the travelers. Lord Buddha is believed to have made his self sacrifice in one of his previous lives . You will see the very heart touching stone art where Buddha offered his own body to the tigress to save them from starvation. So, this place has been sacred pilgrimage for centuries attracting many devotees who come to pay homage to the Buddha’s great act of compassion and generosity.

Day 4: Fly from Kathmandu to Lumbini. Lumbini Sightseeing

After breakfast at hotel, transfer to Kathmandu airport one hour before your flight to Bhairawa airport of Lumbini. Upon arrival at Bhairawa airport, you will be received by our representative and transfer to the hotel(about 50 min drive) Lumbini- the mecca of every Buddhist.

After freshen up, you will be taken for guided tour to major spots of Lumbini that includes Maya budevi temple, Ashoka Pillar, peace lamp and various beautiful monasteries built by various countries like China, German, France, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Japan and many more

Day 5: Day tour to Tilaurakot

Today you will explore another important Buddhist site , Tilaurakot which is about 27 km from Lumbini. It is believed Buddha spent 29 years of his royal life in Tilaurakot. Here, you will explore various historical places that date more than 2000 years.

Day 6: Fly back to Kathmandu. Transfer to Patan.

Transfer to Bhairawa airport one hour before your flight to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport, you will be received by our representative and transfer to your hotel in Patan- city of fine arts & architecture.

Patan is the best place in the Kathmandu Valley to enjoy the walk and observe artisans at work. The town is full of traditional Newari craftspeople, so you can find craftsmen doing Buddhist thangka paintings, metal statues making, all kinds of jewelry, and brass and copper crafts.

Day 7: Buddhist Tour Around Patan

Patan is a beautiful heritage city that has great influence of Buddhism. There are many fascinating temples , monasteries and places around this city that has rich heritage and spiritual significance of Buddhism. Some of the places are :

Golden temple also known as Hiranya Varna Mahavihar is a 12th century Newar Buddhist monastery popular for its exquisite metalwork, golden facade and cultural immersion.

Mahaboudha Temple is also knows as the temple of Thousand Buddhas is another masterpiece of Newar craftsmanship and artwork.This is 14th century temple built entirely of terracotta bricks, each engraved with images of Buddha.

Rudra Varna Mahabihar is another important Buddhist site in Patan where we can explore many ancient statues , inscriptions and ritual objects.

Ashoka Stupa is one of the oldest Buddhist monuments in the Kathmandu valley. It is believed to be built by Emperor Ashoka in the 3rd centure.

Day 8: Departure Day

Today is your departure day. Himalayan Namobuddha’s representative will drop you to Airport 3 hours before scheduled flight. It’s time to bid Nepal farewell visit and appreciate your visit to our country Nepal. Hopefully we shall meet again.
