About INDRA JATRA

Among the different festivals in Nepal, Indra Jatra is the most important festival celebrated by Hindu and Buddhist people specially Newar community of Kathmandu. It is believed that Indra Jatra is a festival of classical and various traditional dances which is celebrated for 8 days. The living goddess Kumari, Ganesh and Bhairav are taken around the city. Lakhe god, Pulukisi God are the major attraction ofJatra. The festival is

generally celebrated on the month of September .
