Pokhara – Ghandruk (915m – 1940m) Leave Pokhara early in the morning by bus or taxi to New Bridge or to Phedi. From Phedi we take a path steeply up the hill to our right towards Dampus. Walking along this ridge gives fantastic views of Annapurnas, Manaslu. If we go to Birethati, we turn right after crossing the river (Modi) and aim to reach Ghandruk about 4-5 hours steep hill trial. Where there are good views of Machhapuchre (Fishtail) and Annapurna South for our rights stop in this pretty village.
Ghandruk (Explore the Ghandruk Village) Ghandrung, pronounced “ Ghandruk” by resendents, is one of the second largest Gurung villages in Nepal where the first one is “Sikesh” and Ghandruk is typical in many respects. Further more to the south of modern Ghandruk there is a beautiful traditional Gurung village ( Gairi Goun) with orderly rows of neat slate- roofed houses are clustered on the canyon wall amid a complicated network of terraces where wheat and barley are grown. I take my clients to this typical village to observe the life style of local people.
Ghandruk – Pothana We decent down to Modi Khola and start climb up to Landruk village, the trail pass thorough the paddy fields than again start climb up to Pothana via Deuarli.
Pothana – Pokhara Pothana is situated on the ridge of hill so the spectacular vies of Annapurna ranges, Fishtail and green valley can be viewed from Pothana. Most part of the trail to Pokhara from Pothana is one the ridge of hill and we walk into the forest from where the shining views of Himalayas can be observe. We decent down to Phedi through the village of Dhaupus than take our taxi to Pokhara.
